GRAMMY-Nominated Producer-Songwriter Felix McTeigue To Release New Album, ‘RecordYear’
Presenting A Felix McTeigue and John Miller Show on September 12 in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — September 7, 2017 — After nearly ten years producing and writing records for other artists, Felix McTeigue will release a new collection of original songs in early 2018, titled RecordYear.
Currently nominated for Song of the Year at the 2017 Americana Honors & Awards for “Wreck You” with Lori McKenna, McTeigue returns with “Half a Lie.” The first song off his new album is available now, and was co-written with Josh Ritter. The new record is being funded through a PledgeMusic campaign.
McTeigue had a normal childhood in suburban New Jersey, but met his biological mother, Maggie Roche, as a young adult. A longtime member of the Greenwich Village folk scene, Roche helped encourage her son’s musical talents.
In 2008, he landed his first major cut with “Wreck You,” a song initially recorded by Heidi Newfield. Nearly a decade later, the same song would be re-recorded by one of McTeigue’s writing partners, Lori McKenna, whose version earned nominations at the 2017 GRAMMY Awards and Americana Awards. In 2014, he co-wrote platinum-selling “Anything Goes” for Florida Georgia Line, which hit #1 on country radio.
McTeigue will present a night of music with talented songwriters and friends on September 12.
