Texas Monthly Premieres New EP From Radney Foster and Kyle Hutton Benefitting Texas Foster Care

Key Texas leaders join songwriters to celebrate release of EP

AUSTIN, Texas — March 31, 2017 — Inspired by the challenges, joys, and realities of the Texas foster care system, The Foster EP brings together Texas legend Radney Foster and singer/songwriter Kyle Hutton on a  five-track EP, with one-hundred percent of proceeds benefitting the Texas foster care system. Releasing this Friday, March 31, the collection offers four originals co-written by Hutton and Foster, as well as a cover of “Amazing Grace,” featuring some of Texas’s most celebrated singer/songwriters. The full EP premiered with Texas Monthly, along with a Q&A discussing The Foster EP. The pair will also join Texas’s First Lady Cecilia Abbott and friends on April 2 at LifeAustin Amphitheatre for a free statewide awareness event.

Both Hutton’s and Foster’s lives have been directly impacted by the subject matter of the songs featured on the new project. A former foster child who was adopted as an infant, Hutton recently became a foster parent himself, while Foster grew up alongside two adopted siblings. Inspired by the more than 30,000 children currently occupying the Texas foster care system, and the 5,000 currently eligible for adoption, the EP and The Place to Stay Concert are pleas to the community and faith-based organizations to get educated and involved with what is happening.

Featuring music from both Hutton and Foster, the concert will educate attendees about current opportunities to become involved in enriching the lives of children in foster care. Child placement agencies, state agency representatives, and foster/adoption non-profits will be on-site for those who would like to explore what it means to get involved. Foster and Hutton will be joined by very special guests, Department of Family Protective Services Commissioner Hank Whitman, The Texas Music Office Director Brendon Anthony and Fostering Hope Austin Executive Director Julie Kouri.

The Foster EP is both a showcase for two honored songwriters and an educational tool for those looking to make a difference in the foster care system. American SongwriterWide Open CountryCowboys & Indians, and Good Day Austin have featured the project in previous press. The Place Stay To Concert begins at 6:00 p.m. on April 2 at LifeAustin Amphitheatre. The concert is free to the public, though reserving tickets is suggested. More information about the EP is available at www.thefosterEP.com.
