Meghan Toohey


Although she is best known as the guitarist for "The Weepies", whose iTunes sales have topped the charts in eight countries, Meghan Toohey is known as a triple threat on the LA music scene, producing, songwriting, and performing. Toohey’s unique guitar playing style has captivated audiences in countless venues all over the world as well as music festivals like Oxegen, Tea In the Park,and Lilith Fair. Her talents have been showcased on The Conan O’Brien Show and Australia’s Sunrise morning show. She has toured extensively as a multi instrumentalist with artists including The Weepies, Lenka, Lucy Schwartz, Schuyler Fisk, Lori McKenna, and Michelle Featherstone.

Meghan has also released 3 albums of original material to critical acclaim. After working with producers including Viktor Van Vugt (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave) and legendary engineer Eddie Kramer(Jimi Hendrix, Kiss) she has gained the attention of many industry professionals, critics and fans alike.

Lately, Toohey has focused on producing indie artists, including Margaret Cho, Garrison Starr, and Vivek Shraya. She has also scored several films and her work has been heard on numerous television shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, Lifetime, Oxygen, Logo, and Bravo. Meghan’s guitar skills were on a song used in Obama’s 2008 Presidential Ad campaign as well as advertisements for Apple, Kenmore, and Chase Bank.

Meghan partnered with Nicole Fiornetino (Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt) to form a “super group” and they released album of original material under the name “The Cold And Lovely” in June 2012 to rave reviews. Their new EP Ellis Bell in now available and the band has been picked as one of the Top 8 Emerging acts of 2013 (Kings of A&R).

Currently Meghan is playing guitar for the hit Broadway show Waitress The Musical, with and original score by Sara Bareilles.
