Pop Singer, Royse, Releases First Track Off Debut Record

‘Intention’ features themes of heartache, vulnerability and human nature

NASHVILLE, Tenn., — July 13, 2018 — Today, Los Angeles based pop singer, Royse, is pleased to release “Intention,” the first single off her self-titled debut record,Royse , available late summer through AGM Records . Produced by Adrian Gurvitz , with songs written by Royse, Lauren Christy, Katt Nestel, and Gurvitz, the album shares an uplifting message backed by thoughtful lyrics and gorgeous melodies.

“I think the chorus says alot to me,” says Royse, “ ‘But that’s not my intention I really want all your attention I really need you to know I’m only scared because I need you the most’  I am the type of person I don’t want to let people in; I’m scared of getting hurt. Releasing this song first is my attempt to be real and vulnerable; I want to start letting people in and not just shut people out.”

With influences like Lana Del Rey, Adele , and Lady Gaga , Royse is an artist who can pull from the undercurrents to make songs that resonate with the listener’s heart. Music is Royse’s way of finding acceptance and her light. Providing a hopeful message often takes a lot of wading through darkness, but this exploration of darkness is not so overt, but done through her visual identity.

“The album is really my heart through the past year,” she says, “songs inspired by heartbreak love, loss, so many things. I would literally would go in and record these songs the next day after heartbreak and crazy moments. [If you] want to know more about my crazy life listen to this album.”

Growing up, Royse knew she wanted to sing, write and create music. Her earliest memories are centered around moody love songs and expressing emotion through music. Fans and friends of the pop singer are tuned into the joy and kindness she shows to everyone around her – anyone who is a fan of Royse’s is loved. That vulnerability and honesty is on display with her debut release.

‘Intention’ is available on all digital platforms:
