The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys Sign Trifecta of Music Deals
Rounder Records, Rainmaker Music Management, and Crossover Touring Ink Deals with Band
NASHVILLE, Tenn., — June 19, 2018 — Today, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are pleased to announce the addition of three new partnerships to their quickly-growing career: Rainmaker Music Management, Crossover Touring, and Rounder Records.
Their move to management with Mike Drudge at Rainmaker Music Management places them among the industry’s leading artists including Del McCoury, Hot Rize, The Travelin’ McCourys, Sierra Hull, The Gibson Brothers and The Kruger Brothers . At Drudge’s request, Barron Ruth ofCrossover Touring — one of the strongest roots music agencies in the business — watched the band’s set at Merlefest and decided to sign them on the spot.
“ Every once in a while, a band comes along that gets everyone’s attention because they are doing things right, have the perfect chemistry, and are creating a sound that resonates.” says Drudge, “The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys could very well be the salvation of struggling traditional festivals while being the ‘ ambassadors of real’ to the fringe events. They are the right band, with the right team, at the right time.”
Rounding out their announce is a signing with Rounder Records, a label who’s vast catalogue consists of some of the finest in bluegrass and acoustic music throughout time, including Alison Krauss, Steep Canyon Rangers, Tony Riceand The Earls of Leicester. Their first single is scheduled for a July release.
“Watching The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys play for the first time at IBMA brought a big smile to my face. It’s been that way ever since.” Says Ken Irwin, Rounder co-founder, “These guys love traditional bluegrass and know how to do it right with the same spirit, drive, heart and enthusiasm of the first generation bands. We’re very excited to be working with them and look forward to helping spread their love of the music to new generations of bluegrass fans.”
Even members of bluegrass music’s leading trade association, the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) are noticing the groundswell of interest in this band, as evidenced by their presence on the second-round ballot for this fall’s IBMA Awards.
The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys’ energetic and unapologetically vintage sound points to the golden era of bluegrass music, all the while appealing to a fresh audience hungry for authenticity. Whether it is the band’s rhinestone string ties, tattoo sleeves, cowboy hats, or hard-hitting bluegrass sound, heads turn wherever they go. It’s music for the fans of Monroe, Martin, Scruggs and Stanley but also for fans who discovered bluegrass in the age of Billy Strings, Trampled By Turtles and Greensky Bluegrass. Mixing in healthy doses of their own original material, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are a breath of fresh air on the roots music scene today.
“The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys and myself couldn’t ask for a better team than what has developed within the past few months.” Say C.J. Lewandowski , bandleader of The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, “The combination of Rainmaker, Crossover, and Rounder is a powerful pact and we really look forward to where this will propel the band into the future of Bluegrass and American Roots music. We try our best to represent our style of Bluegrass in the most authentic way possible. Thanks to Graham Talent Group and Randm Records for believing in us from the start and supporting The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys in this next chapter of our musical story. We look forward to what’s ahead and are honored to be on the same rosters as some of our heroes. It truly is a dream come true.”
